Kerry has completed her AAT with an overall merit of 87%.

As part of her role at GLX, Kerry handles a wide range of responsibilities within her portfolio of clients. This includes completing bookkeeping tasks, preparing VAT returns, submitting monthly CIS reports, generating management accounts, preparing statutory accounts and filing corporation tax returns.

Kerry’s meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive skill set ensure that her clients receive accurate and timely financial support.

This week two members of the GLX team, Helen Hunt and Abigael Taylor attended a two-day training course to qualify as certified Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®️).

They’ve dedicated their time to gain an understanding of common mental health issues and gain the knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness and support positive wellbeing in the workplace.

Mental health awareness and support is important to us and having certified mental health first aiders on our team enables us to provide holistic support to our colleagues, as required.

We’re really grateful to Helen and Abigael for dedicating their time and developing these skills to provide additional support to the team.

This knowledge and training is so valuable to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all our staff; something that means a lot to us here at GLX.

We’re proud to see our GLX logo being worn on the new team shirts for the under 11’s ‘Basketball in the Community’ team.

BBITC are a club based in Norwich, Norfolk, delivering basketball to over 200 members a week from ages 6 to 60+, with over 12 teams that take part in a range of competitions.

Their main aim is to increase the provision and participation of youth and adult basketball throughout the county, encouraging people to reach their own ‘next level’ and fulfil their potential.

What a fantastic ethos and a great partnership for us here at GLX.

We would like to congratulate Steven Hemp on passing his advanced ACA exams on Friday!

Steve joined GLX in 2022 and works with a variety of our clients across a range of different industries.

Steve has developed a wide range of skills and regularly prepares statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, self-assessment tax returns and VAT Returns.

Steve also prepares a number of management accounts for clients and splits his time between working directly at the client’s premises and within the office.


Passing these advanced exams is an incredible achievement as it is no small feat, so a big congratulations to Steve on this achievement, from the entire GLX team.

Becoming a manager is a significant accomplishment that reflects Helen’s hard work, dedication and leadership skills.

We’re pleased to share that Jack Presland, our Managing Director here at GLX, has received his fellowship status (FCA) with ICAEW.

This is a significant achievement as it’s a recognition of his exceptional professional accomplishments and achievements in the field of accounting. For Jack, it shows a demonstration of outstanding expertise, leadership and ethical standards throughout his career.

Since joining GLX in 2013, after successfully completing his ICAEW exams with a regional firm, Jack has been an invaluable member of our team. He has played a pivotal role alongside our founder in shaping our firm into what it is today, and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievements.

In addition to his responsibilities in running the firm, Jack serves as an outsourced finance director for a number of our clients. This role has allowed him to accumulate extensive experience across various sectors, including construction, property, software as a service (SAAS), motor, hospitality and leisure, and manufacturing.

But Jack’s expertise doesn’t stop at financial management. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in tax planning and has been instrumental in assisting businesses with corporate restructuring. Moreover, he has provided valuable guidance to high-net-worth individuals in mitigating their inheritance tax liabilities.
